A Chinese publisher, Shanghai 99, recently published my story “Ride” in an anthology edited by Haruki Murakami. That collection, entitled BIRTHDAY STORIES, has also been published in England and Japan. (The book features stories by Russell Banks, Denis Johnson, William Trevor, Lynda Sexson, David Foster Wallace, Ethan Canin, Andrea Lee, Raymond Carver, Claire Keegan, Paul Theroux, Haruki Murakami, and me.)
